@t0daY confused by this, surely the best/only way to practice with time trial conditons is to post times in time trial mode? The time trial thread implies that it's the time you've posted at the deadline, not the first time posted that counts?

You can do as many time trial laps as you want. Once you are happy with your time, you make a screenshot and post it in the thread. Hope everything is clear now :)

Well I understand this now, it's not the rule I thought from reading the time trial post and personally I don't see why we have that rule. Normally in a time trial competition the fastest times always happen at the end and seeing as there's a request for fair reflective times for splits then I can't see why someone who posted a time earlier should be stuck with it if they find some extra time to practice and put a faster time in!

Please can you update the time trial thread to clearly state that you can only post once before the deadline.

We have this rule because we have this rule xD It is easier for us because otherwise I have to go through the leaderboard and pick up everybodys laptime. That is a huge amount of work. I think everything is clearly stated in the time trial thread.

Ok but it is not clear in the time trial description, it doesn't specify anywhere that you can only set one lap.

The initial deadline will be 23:00 UTC, Friday, 13th January 2017. Any times set and posted after this deadline will NOT be counted, so please keep an eye on the time if you are late setting a lap. The admin team will then allocate drivers to their appropriate tier.

Exchange set for upload a lap and we're golden :)

You can do as many laps as you want, when you're happy with your time you upload a screenshot :)

If you post tomorrow a laptime and on thursday a better one I have nothing against it. It will get just messy when you upload once an hour a timetrial picture. I thought this is self-explaining. Obviously your uploaded picture will count in the end.

As Puffpirat has pointed out, you can do as many laps as you like during the time trial period, but the only time that will count is the time that is showing in the leaderboards when the event finishes.

You should only post your time up here when you are 100% certain that you cannot go any faster.

It isn't explicity stated in the event info but I would also suggest that the time trial event follows the standard RSR rules for racing, whereby 2 wheels MUST remain in contact with the circuit at all times. It is very easy to run wide at Oulton Park, without your lap being invalidated.

IMO, any laps that are seen to be running wide should be eliminated from the results, leaving that driver open to being placed in a lower tier than maybe expected of them.

We all know the rules for racing, so don't try and bend them for time trial :)

If it's not in the first post of the TT that it doesn't count. Also who will look thru the ghosts? What if there is no ghost of a TT lap? What if time and ghost doesn't match? What then?

I know I'm shy of jonnotheone's time by like .1s but also pretty sure I can beat it. Will post the time at that moment but for now, more practise =)
Lot of time would need investing in checking people's ghost data. I know I'm borderline with one corner =/

The answer i was after was the time posted in the forums not on the time trial.. Im asuming manu thought the same..

If if if if if.

If you want to exploit the track limits then you're doing nothing but cheating yourself IMHO*. There are very simple rules for RSR races and I would hope everybody would follow them in a time trial event aswell.

Can it be enforced? No.
Will it be checked? No.

I'm simply making a suggestion, miagi, and appealing to the 'better driver' in all of us.

@Puffpirat - I haven't looked at anybody's laps so my apologies if yours, or anybody elses' lap, goes over the track limits. I was of the understanding that this wasn't starting until tonight anyway and it was only after my post that I checked to see if anybody had set a time and noticed that laps were already set .

* EDIT : I want to expand on this. This time trial isn't about bragging rights (unless you want it to be), there is no prize for coming first. Equally, there is no shame at all in coming last. The whole point of the time trial is to put people into a tier where they will drive with their peers, drivers of similar ability. If you feel that you have to exploit the track limits to set a time that puts you in the tier you think you should be in, you need to ask yourself, quite seriously, "do I belong in that tier". If you're asking yourself that question, you already know the answer :).

Theoretically we could enforce it but studying every entrants ghost but we've got enough trust between us to hope that everyone follows RSR rules.

Can you update the race calendar in https://revolutionsimracing.com/threads/rsr-international-cup-season-1-league-information.429/ that thread? It still states catalunya :)

Also, did you know, for the point scoring system, in football, they use alphabetical order in the case of a full-on tie between two teams?

It is fairly possible for 2 persons to do the following:
race 1: p1, p2
race 2: p2, p1
race 3: p4, p5
race 4: p5, p4
etc

And you would still have a tie ;-) Perhaps add that last one, (alphabetical naming) as a last resort.

(Sorry for being a thorough software engineer :D )

Since we have 6 races, it is possible for 2 persons to do the following:
race 1: p1, p2
race 2: p2, p1
race 3: p4, p5
race 4: p5, p4
etc

It should state Catalunya because this will be our first race on monday, the 16th January. Do not know what you mean exactly xD

Very unlikely that something like that will happen Ashnoom. We will come up with something when we have a case like that. In your case I would take poles and qualifying results as a next stage.
