The build looks good. Seems about right for what it is. I would take advantage of promo deals and what not around the net so be on the look out. You could always grab a 6700k as the performance difference between the two is negligible. Expect Intel to slightly reduce prices a little once Ryzen comes out.

Throw the cost of each item in and it will be easier to figure out where savings can be best made.

On first look there are two items you could change to bring the cost down.

1. Downgrade from i7-7700k to i5-7600k
2. Drop memory from 32gb to 16gb

I don't think for gaming you would notice much difference between a i7-7700k and a i5-7600k, and 32Gb is quite high for memory. you could start with 16GB and grab another 16GB if you really needed it.

Your 7700K vs the the Ryzen 7 1700 - 11 dollars cheaper and more powerful. Obviously we need to wait until they are really out and properly tested. But this gives you an base idea which direction Ryzen will head to

Firstly double check the memory cost, it looks too cheap for 32gb (4x8GB) I would of expected this to be the price of around 16GB of your chosen memory.

Power Supply

I'd do some more research on that, you have gone for the Corsair value series, which is there lowest and cheapest PSU. A good quality PSU should not be under-estimated, I would adjust my specs to have a better quality PSU.

On looking for cost savings, what you have specified is a very good PC, but as I've said before it's probably over specified for your intended usage, if you can past the mindset of engineering for the best, and instead engineering for requirement then I think you could bring the costs down. It's great to future proof by getting the best you can, but there are always diminishing returns at the top end, and should look to find the best compromise of price vs performance.

Your biggest saving will be from downgrading your processor, in typical usage I don't think you would see too much real word difference between the i5-7600k & the i7-7700k, this will probably save 100-120 Euro's. Looking at other areas of saving you can also probably look at alternate choices for Montherboard/SSD/HDD. The ones you have selected are very good, but there are close alternatives as cheaper price points. If your budget is restrained you could probably go for these cheaper alternatives and not really notice much difference at all.

Ryzan real world benchmarks will start to surface in the next few weeks, that could open up a whole load of other possibilities.

Yeah, I got quite a few comments on Twitch that it's overkill to get top of the line gear as a starter. Guess the i5 7600 and GTX 970 are sufficient to be starting to stream / race at the same time. I'm not a hoarder of games and useless junk on my PC anyways.
Saving 200$ on the PC would be awesome to get an earlier start back into racing.

Also You don't strictly need the hdd right off the bat, you could grab that later on

I've got win10, pcars, iracing and dirt rally plus office 2010 all running on my 256gb SSD with about 30gb free, so that could also be food for thought.

Never consider a build overkill. What may be overkill for me might not be for you. Honestly, get what you can afford. If you can do a high end build then do it. I would rather spend more money up front for a higher end build that will last me years than skimp out and get a budget part that I may or may not have to upgrade later on sooner. I would not recommend getting a 970. It's going to be 2 generations old here soon. Stick with the 1070 or any Pascal card. Heck Pascal will be out dated in a couple months anyway with Volta. I would never play and stream on the same PC as that takes away resources but that's just me. You can obviously use quicksync or nvenc.

Wait for the first or even "second" customer gameplay benchmarks. I don't believe AMD at all.
Ratherly I would wait price drop on Intel i7.

At GDC 2017 Nvidia just announced that the price of the GeForce GTX 1080 has been dropped with $ 100 (effective immediately) down to $ 499.

We are not sure if the prices take effect worldwide right away as well but it looks like it as prices for the cheapest model right now hoevers in the €639 range but thus should be €569 range. Nvidia stated nothing on prices of other series 10 GeForce cards like the GTX 1060 and 1070. Considering the 1070 is occupying that price bracket, it should drop in

This probably means a good price drop for 1080 and 1070 (not announced, but I think it will happen). Still, if the 1080ti will be available around 650 - 700 €, I'll get that one (unless the 1080 drops to current 1070 levels, but this is unlikely).
