I think further investigation is needed on this subject called AMS2. The core investigation will start when dedicated servers are a thing, but it wouldn't hurt to be more on the ball when it happens.
A fair point that being able to launch a major league within days of go live (or hosting a "launch" competition) is a sure fire way to get visibility...if that's what's desired.

An interesting bit of speculation about the teaser shot at the end of the development update, it could be a Porsche at the Nordschleife

As per my note in our Discord channel, the 40% discount is scheduled to end in the next few days, so might be worth picking this up now if you have a passing interest in it, just to possibly save money in the long run. It's still in Early Access and Reiza appear to have a long schedule mapped out for the game, so don't expect a fully polished product at launch (pretty much par for the course these days, especially when it comes to racing games).

It's £24.99 in the UK right now, so I bought my copy yesterday.

I must say it starting to feel better, at least with the cars i tried. I didn't really try the multiplayer, I just did 1 race with 3 others unknown and 1 of them was spinning at every corner in the formula v12 at casvavel.
I would be interested to try a real race online with you guyz, if it is outside my work Schedule (13h30 - 22h00 during weekday)

Anyone played the latest update (0.9.2.1)? Seems like a lot of physics updates. Was wondering where people thought the game was now in terms of polish

I'd consider it more if RSR were to make an effort with it, currently however, it just sits there in my steam installed looking at me as I happily boot up pcars2 day in day out.
I have to say though, the updates have been coming pretty quick recently. my advice is to still give it time

I've watched a few videos already, and its looking positive, I'm just interested in some RSR feedback.

I have it since first EA and i must say it is going on the right path, even if there are still cars i dont feel like they are finished (for example the stock cars which doesnt feel at all like in AMS1, its like 2 different cars) but if you re looking for copa classic,, on this side i must say that i am pretty happy with it. There is still lots of work to be done by Reiza but all in all it is already very good and promising.
If you plan to race against AI, it still needs some work but the last patch made them more human like, i can now follow and race them at 100% skill and 50% aggression as recommended by Reiza (i used92/100before and this was alien ai racing with some cars).

If you are still unsure, i d say wait for 1.0 to see if the content suits your needs. I am still waiting for dirt cars as this was very good in AMS1.

Next major update looks to be very promising for the looming V1 release

Had a little play today and it's ok. Sticky barriers are far worse than PC2, a light brush and the car almost stops, almost impossible to get off them. I really shouldn't have picked azure circuit in hindsight lol.
In the Caterham Academy I couldn't leave the pits properly, brakes seemed to be stuck on and the car would just push the front tyres until i hit the pit wall, then it seemed to be ok, very strange. This happens every time I use the car. Tried to join a multiplayer session, autopits was on, but as soon as it disengaged, my wheel turned full left lock and wouldn't normalise until i hit a wall. It seems the madness engine has some inherent bugs, not just PC2. I'm going to have a longer play around tomorrow, I want to give it a fair go.
Across the cars I tried, I'd say similar to PC2, physics and FFB quality varies by car, I'm sure there is still a lot of tweaking to be done though.

Turns out that deleting my profile fixed a lot of the wheel issues I was getting just as it did during WMD on
PC1/2. Much better yesterday, but the sticky barriers are awful still. There is something missing in terms of sense of speed as well, even in VR. Handling and FFB feel very good now tyre slip on the edge of grip especially, but I couldn’t get motion or transponders to work.
It’s weird I used to love LFS even though the cars weren’t licensed, but the cars in AMS2 don’t excite me all that much. The trucks are a nice gimmick but horrible to drive.

for a game that uses the same internals as pcars2, the handling is totally whack even from the last build for me.
still struggling to get any car to steer in a logical manner with the pad, using the same pcars settings & various other changes (of many i tried)
Steering ratio feels like its on a log scale rather than linear
speed sensitivity is like flicking a switch from understeer everywhere, to, go backwards leaving corners..
as far as i could tell the pad dampening settings are there as a placebo - didn't change anything for me.
The only thing that is a big improvement are the brake settings compared to the earlier builds.

That's pretty much how I steer in pcars2 lol blended with Schumachers style. Force the front into the apex & deal with the rear when it steps out
