Just picked up Oulton Park Circuit & Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the rest of the BSS Season so threw Daytona International Speedway to get the 10% discount :)

Drove Daytona for the first time ever this afternoon, what target lap times should we be looking for.

Will we know what the race conditions will be? I heard it will be at night.

Good question! Not even sure which times we did last year... Something with 40 if I remember correctly^^

Easy! Just looked at the results back then xDD

Avg laptime: 1:47.603
Fastest laptime: 1:44.485
Qualy was 43' or 42' if I am not mistaken...

Huh, what?

That's weird, this is my best time in the Ford GT2:

Daytona International Speedway - Road Course | Practice | 1:46.395

Is there that little difference between GT3 and GT2? I knew I should've driven that week despite lack of practice because of being away.

Well then give me some reference times with the Macca or the Audi :p :p :p

After driving this afternoon i've changed my mind:

Audi > Z4 > Merc > DP

Well just fired up the AMG and took it for a quick blast around Daytona, did around 8 laps(4 clean) and put in a 1:47.3 with 46L of fuel with the baseline setup, So I'm below the average lap time already :)

Have to be so careful getting that power down getting into the long banked straights, think that's one of the key areas there is a lot of speed to gain.

let me have my brief moment of pride before shooting me down in flames and telling me it was a typo and it should have been a 1.37 average :)

Race pace was 44' - 45'. Also a little advice, practice always with a full tank. 40L laptimes won't help cause you need to know exactly how the car behaves with half a tank and half used tires^^

Very good point you make Manu, when I am at that point to be able to practice I will surely try and remember this

I was doing 48's yesterday after about half a dozen laps in the Audi, got to work on turn 1 and the chicane, they are going to bite ya

I might buy the Merc and see how they compare.

How about the left kink in the infield? That was a major danger zone in the McLaren last year.
The Audi just powers around there no problem.

How do the setups work in team events, does everyone have their own setup or is the same setup used for everyone?

1 setup for all. The setup of the driver who starts the race will be the one for everyone.

So would you make the setup as a balance between all drivers or would you make it for the person who is qualifying/doing the first stint?
