Anyway, hopefully I can into the pack more in future. I don't want to be floating around at the back forever.

Dont sweat it mate - we are all new with pcars 2 and frankly the TCR's are pretty horrid to get to grips with imo. I was something like 7 seconds of the pace at qualifying - normally Im not at the front but usually within 3 or 4 seconds at the worst.

Apart from the distaste I have for the constant back stepping out with the TCRs - Im putting it down to getting used to pcars 2 (dont forget a bunch of these guys have been playing it for over a year).

Apologies guys for dropping so much - I kept getting dropped from the lobby menu by pressing my VR reset button - I cant find a reason why that does that as I cant find a mapping that describes that....

Still the racing was fun - roll on a good few years of PCars 2 :)

in answer to @Pamellaaa .... no :p

My apologies for the abrupt leaving of TeamSpeak but I really was desperate to eat something.

Personally, I went into the races disliking the scrabble-nonsense that is anything FWD. 3 races later, I hold the same opinion :D. I had only driven the BMW briefly, in one of the early 'livetrack' test sessions at WMD2 but, aside from getting a few screenshots (which never involves driving at speed), I hadn't touched any of the other cars at all. In the end, I went for the Astra because it was new and that was it. Aside from fuel and tyre compound, I ran a default setup in both races - I had even less idea than normal on what to change, in the short time I had in quali, so I just left everything as it was. 5th, 1st and 5th were far more than I could have hoped for, going into the race.

Thanks for the close racing, for those that I did have some brief battles with. The netcode was, almost without fail, absolutely rock solid from my perspective tonight. The only blip was a small moment of lag, when Steveg's car appeared to go a bit wide in the Mercedes complex in Race 2. He then ran wide again and I was concerned that he lagged again and I might have hit him but it would appear the first instance was lag, the second was the down to the driver ;)

Shocker of a night. Was feeling quite optimistic during qualifying but everything went wrong for me. Couldn't participate in the first race because of a bug, so sat out. Got to the second race, starting 18th made my way up to 8th in a battle with @The Wayfaerer which to be fair, was a pretty good one, (great defending btw!) passed him only to be taken out immediately dropping me to 15th after a lengthy pit stop for major repairs. Then race 3, starting 15th, I made my way back through the field only to be taken out again, suffering suspension damage and later retiring.

Not exactly the start to Project Cars 2 I was hoping for. :p Glad to hear everyone elses races went well though, looked like some epic battles near the front.

The new game is just too different from the old one, wasn't even able to control the car on dry ground. Guess I need to re-learn driving now

You're not alone. I've got a long road ahead of me to get back on the pace with the new setup and game.

I had a great time yesterday. I started P3 for R1, got into 2nd and hung onto @Alex Salmon for the first 3/4 of the race. My tyres began to let go in the last few laps, but I had enough of a gap to P3 to hold onto my 2nd place. A nice and calm first race from my perspective, it was a good exercise in finding the limit of the car, and learning my strengths & weaknesses around the circuit.

Race 2 was fantastic. Proper touring car racing between me, @Alex Salmon and @Pamellaaa as we carved our way to the front again. It felt like a BTCC end of season title decider, very intense and tonnes of fun :D A little bit of contact here and there, but no harm done (these cars can take it) or animosity (because touring cars). Me and Alex eventually built an gap at the front, with our scrapping allowing Pam to join us in the last 5 minutes. With 2 laps to go I lost my lead by locking up into the cut through hairpin, and had to fight off Pam as Alex got a break into the lead. Alex got hit with a 1 second penalty for track limits, so it me and Pam only had to be within touching distance to win. Pam got a mega exit coming out of the final chicane, and got on the inside into the final corner. With Alex's penalty I got another net 2nd.

I started race 3 cautiously, and lost ground to Pam who started alongside me. This whole race was a bit of a blur, there was so much going on around me. I kept it on the road and made my way up to 2nd again - a bridesmaid once again.

Great 3 races yesterday, the track car combo was extreme fun, unfortunately i was a bit unlucky or too cautious at the starts so i didn't make the best results at the end.

But i had some awesome racing with @Bassetts at the end of Race 2 where i really had to dig deep in the trick box to be able to pass him again after outbraking myself a bit in T1 the lap before

Well what a night, I have to say that has to be one of my favourite nights of racing had in a long time. First off I qualified in 6th place, which I really couldn't believe, but anyway onto race one, settled into the 1st few laps and all was going well, my pace was on point wasn't really gaining on the guys in front but managing mostly to keep ahead of the guys behind, so kept head down and trying not to panic about the fact I was in 6th place still (anyone who knows me knows I crack under the pressure). Next thing I know is I get the message 5 minutes left in the race, I double checked my position, yup still the same. Ok keep calm and bring it home. And that was race 1, I was over the moon about my position and finishing in 6th. Could it get any better than this I was thinking to myself?

And the answer to that was Yes, yes it can, 2nd race came and went just as quick as the first, with some brilliant races with @t0daY and @Hobbnob and actually managed to keep that orange BMW behind me (i think he was just being nice) and I got my first podium finish with RSR coming in 3rd.

After that, I knew the wet race was coming, I hadn't driven this Renault in the wet, or even had a wet setup, ok throw some wet tires onto my setup and just go with it. I was so happy with my race 1 and 2 that I wasn't expecting to even finish this one. Ok, reverse grid set so starting back up the field a bit, first couple of corners out the way and I am in 3rd again. What is going on? After some great racing with @Blue Monkey ( i gotta say I was determined to stay ahead of you), he got past me and finished that race in 4th.

I know it took some time getting into the lobbies, but I have to say I really enjoyed that last night, some great racing guys and I hope we can keep this momentum going. Thanks to everyone who raced in both lobbies last night.

I enjoyed very much. Most fun I have had. Many thanks for the gr8 racing. To be honest I was very nervous and made some errors. I do apologies for that. Hope to get better. I did retire on the last race with a blown engine, but I consider that a blessing as well as I started to watch Hobbs and Manu. Learned alot by watching both of you as in driving style - approaching the corner, braking and throttle application, overtaking and defending. Many thanks guys. I can only hope to learn more and apply what I learn.

That is no problem at all! Nobody is perfect and every additional race will make you feel more and more comfortable.

Happy you enjoyed the battle with @Hobbnob, was hard work :hungover:

Firstly Welcome back everyone...summer break seemed to take forever but its great to be back!

Practice
I originally planned to use the Mercedes A45 but found the Renault Megane Much nicer to drive and i was quicker with that on defaults than i was with the Merc. Practice went well having been close to Hobbs but not close enough, ended wet practice 0.090s behind him having only changed setup to wet tires and lowered pressures. the car handled very well in both dry/wet conditions so i decided to push the limits of grip!

This was the limit for the chicane...

Quali
It went really well for me, i was on course for Pole position for most of quali until the very last second when @t0daY and @Hobbnob Managed to get good laps in, laps i couldn't beat.

Race1
I lost a position to @Blue Monkey at the start but managed to hold off @Cluck and bring the car home in 4th place.

Race2
this started alright for me until turn 2 which i was then "Vetteled" by someone(i know how verstappen felt!) I ended up on the grass and rejoined at the back of the pack. I managed to crawl my way back to 10th with a car that had front suspension damage and 40% damage to front so engine was progressively getting worse. Luckily 10th was reverse grid pole.

Race3
Starting from pole this race was looking promising as i believe i had the pace to win and hold off Manu and Hobbs. Sadly this is where Race3 ended for me, Not being able to select "READY" meant i could only Spectate.

Overall it was a great way for RSR to return and boy did we return in style!!

So, something I forgot to mention (@t0daY)
What I noticed in the BMW TCR is that in the tuning setup the Final Gear Ration would be around 4.something

When changing I had the option for 3.something and 2.something, but the option for 4.something wasn't there.

I saw the same with the other gearing ratios where on default there would be different ratios then actually selectable.

I havent yet had time to investigate any futher though
