TL;DR You race 4 qualy heats. Top 12? Congrats you go to the semi-finals. Finish top 3 in semi final? You go to the final.

Qualification
Q1: 5 heats with 5 drivers -> drivers are placed randomly in a heat.
Q2: Heats are based on total racetime of Q1 -> top 5 Q1 goes heat #1 -> 6-10 go heat #2 etc. Total racetime makes up the Q1 ranking not your heat finishing position.
Q3: Heats are based on total racetime of Q2 -> top 5 Q2 goes heat #1 -> 6-10 go heat #2 etc.
Q4: Heats are based on total racetime of Q3 -> top 5 Q3 goes heat #1 -> 6-10 go heat #2 etc.
  • A qualifying heat is 6 laps
  • All drivers will drive a heat in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4
  • Starting grid is random, all 5 drivers start side-by-side on the finish line by game default
  • In each Qualifying, one of the laps must be the Joker Lap. Those Drivers who do not take this Joker Lap will receive a time penalty of 30 seconds. The game will track joker laps
  • The average best 12 drivers of Qualifying progress to the Semi-Finals
  • All heats of a Qx will be driven at the same time. This means 5 different peer-to-peer sessions per Qx.
  • The heat placement will be communicated by me
  • I will appoint a Chief driver per heat which will host the peer-to-peer heat and communicate the results of their heat by screenshot afterwards. Lobby hosts can find the peer-to-peer settings and details in attached pdf below.
Semi-Finals
  • 12 drivers - 6 per semi-final
  • Starting grid is random and on a line
  • 6 laps
  • Joker lap is mandatory
  • Top 3 of a semi-final continue to the final
  • The semi-finals will be one at a time.
  • The semi-finals will be livestreamed (and perhaps commentated) so all drivers can still enjoy the action.
Final
  • 6 Drivers
  • Starting grid is random and on a line
  • 6 laps
  • Joker lap is mandatory
  • The Final will be livestreamed (and perhaps commentated) so all drivers can still enjoy the action.

I read the event date first and thought "wow, that is forward planning".

Do you have a commentator for this? I have the final F1 Esports qualifiers that night starting at 7 UTC but they tend to take less than an hour, So looking at your plan, I could be available for when you were planning on having streaming coverage

I have been commentating for AOR for the last 2 years and @t0daY was one of the first people I commentated on (and the first champion too, Formula Renault 3.5 in PCARS 1).

I wouldn't mind doing a few things but I have a VERY busy schedule, not just with AOR but for other things I commentate on, So at the moment I am not looking to commit to a league. Yet :)

I did know that already but Jonno didn't :D

But yes indeed, FR3.5 where I was able to beat the famous Fisi in his own discipline :p :p
