Following on from our successful iRacing endurance section, RevolutionSimRacing is now ready to expand into endurance racing in rFactor 2! Our chosen partner in this will be SimRacing.club.

So what is our aim at SimRacing.club? Very simple! To start with we want to create at least one team and compete in the Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC). It is a nice and not so expensive alternative to the iRacing endurance events. It's completely new to all of us but we can ensure you that it's going to be great fun. A working day/night cycle, live weather (including rain), dynamic track system and obviously one of the best physics out there!

FlyingKman and myself have been testing the waters and have been really pleased by rFactor 2. It will give you all out there a chance to get in on the endurance races without the overhead of iRating, Safety Rating and a hefty subscription.

If you have any questions, just ask in the thread down below how to get involved and we hope to see you join us in an endurance race soon!

    What is Virtual Endurance Championship?
VEC is a virtual image of WEC, you team up with other drivers and race between 4-24 hour races in rFactor 2, with up to 40 drivers. They exist since 2008 and are the biggest endurance championship available in rFactor 2.
If you wanna see some footage of their official streams:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSLEilfJxDJtXHagrSCVZcQ

Its smaller brother is the Virtual Le Mans Series, which runs 1 week earlier, has only LMP2 & GT3 and is only 4h each race.

RSR has 1 team driving the 'Oreca Nissan' in the LM-P2 class, in Division 3
    GRAB_074.JPG

    PreQ Race: 4h Estoril

    Result: 2nd in LM-P2 class, 7th overall

    Drivers: @Blue Monkey (Qualifying + Stint 1 + Stint 3), @MelBonkers (Stint 2 + Stint 4 & 5)

    Statements & Videos:
    Full race:

What an awesome start into the VEC. Even this was only a Qualification race, to determine the splits, it has been an awesome experience and a great drive. MelBonkers was an awesome teammate, he did an awesome job.
We did drive nearly flawlessly and had no incidents whatsoever and could even run a 4 stop strategy, which was damn close on fuel, where our opponents all had to do a 5 stop strategy.
At one point it even looked as if we had the chance to win, but our safer strategy (going for mediums instead of softs) meant we were overall slower then the leaders. So a lot of potential for the future.
    Stint 2:

    Stint 4 & 5:

For me this race was my first real endurance simrace. I had a blast running this race with Blue Monkey. Running the race in VR is a bit of a challenge as in the VR HUD the fuel usage or driver's names aren't shown. This makes running specific fuel strategies or identifying drivers in certain situations difficult. In the end I had fantastic help from Blue Monkey being my race engineer. With his help and Swiss calculation skills we ran this race with just 4 pitstops and squeezing out the last drop of fuel in every stint. Fuel saving was interesting and challenging at the same time. The finish of the race was a little bit confusing, but I was very happy finding out I let the lead car lap me in my last lap. My car ran out of fuel at the back stretch. If I'd stayed in front of the lead car, I would've ran out of fuel in my last lap and we would've had to retire from the race. Finishing in 2nd position with just 40 seconds behind the leading LMP2 was a fantastic reward for our efforts. Looking very much forward to the next race at Indianapolis GP!

Race 1: 1000 miles of Indianapolis

    Qualifying start: 7th October 2017, 14:00 UTC
Race duration: 1000 miles for leader, approx. 8 - 10 hours, depending on weather

    Planned drivers: @Blue Monkey @t0daY @MelBonkers

I have signed up, but can't complete my introduction as it says I have not enough privileges. Do you know what I can do about that?

You have problems running it with DX9?

It takes usually some time. I think they approve everyone manually. @FlyingKman had to wait an hour I believe.

Thats because DX11 is still highly WIP. I would roll back to DX9 and try it out there.

The mod packs are not needed yet. @Blue Monkey and myself trying to give you guys a shoutout once the sign ups open again. They allow only 40 people per SRCA season which goes over 4 weeks.
