My personal best (clear weather) with default setup.
BMW 2002 Turbo : 2"44"1
Ford Escort : 2"39"8
Mercedes : 2"40"6

My favorite is the BMW even if it's the slowest one. On the other hand, I can improve a lot my pace with Mercedes but I used to train against level 100 IA and they are something like 5secondes faster.

I'm curious about this event, I suppose some of you will keep the BMW for last race in order to avoid last positions on the grid. In my case, I'll use it for the rain betting on crash.

Edit : Reverse grid so forget my theory about using the BMW for last race.

Yep, that's the idea Husqvarman. It's all about the strategy this time, choosing the right car you think will give you the best outcome overall. You could pick the fastest car first, which means you may start towards the front for race 2, but you'll be in a slower car for that race. Or maybe it's all about choosing the right car for the weather conditions of each race...

So, the races probably are done on 18 September and not Octobre as said above ;-)?!
Some other question: I don't have the BMW 2002. I can ofcourse train to my knowledge when somebody sets up a server, but since the race is being done with 3 possible cars and everybody chooses a different one, won't this mess up the server for me being able to select the BMW?

*fixed the dates, thanks for letting us know :)

About the BMW 2002 issue, I will have a look into it, I thought the BMW 2002 is free?? -.-

Thanks for updating, now my message looks really stupid as nobody knows what I'm talking about :p.

As for the BMW, it's part of the Old VS New Car Pack, so definetely not free.
As for the server settings and allowing to drive it, I have less experience than most of you, but I think I can remember something FlyingK said, that it's only possible when it's the only car on the server.

So I would highly appreciate an alternative, if its not possible for some people to drive all 3, so we can train at least a bit. Thanks and sorry for not having the expansion :p

Alright, I've done a bit of practice in all 3 cars. Quite surprising how much of a gap there is between the 3, especially the Mercedes. I only did 5/6 laps to get a feel for them, I only tweaked out some wild oversteer & gearing.

Mercedes: 2:35.low
Ford: 2:38.low
BMW 2:41.low

I also did a few laps in each in the wet, the Ford is terrifying! If we have to force single cars (to address problem raised by @Col_McCoy ), I found the BMW is most fun & manageable in the wet. Just saying...

That was my initial thought that we force the BMW in the wet race :) Also I did a little mistake (sorry for that) but I did forget to copy & paste some bits from the old website which I just realized...
(proof here :D: http://wordpress.revolutionsimracing.com/upcomingevents/mount-panorama-vintage-revival/)

Two things were added to the event:
Gentleman’s Agreement: You must use a different car from those available for each race.
BoP: Forced Default Setup

Plz dont force the bmw :( that would be against the idea of this event

The DLC costs 4 bucks for me - that should be affordable for everyone imo (no i dont wanna force you to buy it)

This is my bad, I completely forgot about the BMW being in a DLC while researching for the race. Even if you don't have the DLC come along anyway, worst case scenario you race 2 out of 3 races but I'm sure we can work something out to avoid that. Thanks for bringing it to our attention Col_McCoy. :)

In my oppinion, just force the lesser car from the Ford or the Benz on us for the wet race.
I'll try to get some laps in today on the wet and give you a feedback.
I was anyway using the Ford and Benz for race 1 and 3. So if you guys say its an advantage to use the bmw in the wet, we don't even need to discuss. If the Benz or Ford might be better, just give me (us) the worser car?!

You're right that could work but we'll have to look into it a bit more. The BMW may be the most comfortable car in the wet for most people but it's still the outright slowest of the three cars, so it could be said you'd be gaining an advantage being able to not use the slowest of the cars. But again, we'll discuss it a bit more and work something out.
