Target fuel is:
55min 45sec incl. pitstop in dry conditions

My best sofar is a 1:58.309 driven in low grip (4 other cars on track) - in the same stint my slowest would be a low 2:01 if there is no traffic. We changed the setup to more wing as we had better pace and stability. All with ABS & TC on low.
TheWayfaerer will give you the final setup :)

Turn 1 and last bus stop little errors, without them probably 1:58.2XY in it :)

@LMP Team @Elodyr @FlyingKman @Blue Monkey
after some more long run testing i figured out that 12 rear wing instead of 13 is more the way to go, as I was able to do faster laps for a longer amount of time, and also i was able to go faster at the end of the stint.

Unfortunately i made a terrible mistake when calculating the fuel stint (i should not make important calculations when i'm tired :D)
Because of this we are 1 lap short per stint as we have to do 27 laps and not 26.

So i was testing what to do to hit the fuel number 2.77 per lap, but doing this i lost nearly 1 sec per lap, so we have to decide if all the fuel saving is worth the lost time during driving.

So team Porsche, I did a couple of long runs and the current setup gets a little to risky after 10 laps or so, mainly oversteer. Adding wing didn't help much (currently at 2.5), so for the race setup I dialed in a little under steer by dropping the rear sway bar to minimum, dropping rear ride height to minimum, rear springs down a click and drop preload to 5 or 6 (from memory). I will post a setup when get back to my PC. It's still quick and the car doesn't try so hard to kill you after a few laps.

What's the general feeling on how we will managed the stints and who goes where in the rotation? I would like to request the last stint in the first rotation.

I will test with that new setup today, I'm hoping to get some good time on today, also I think it will be handy to practice and understand how we do driver swaps. I know I haven't done any before and want to make sure I fully understand how to do it. With regards to the stints I am not sure how everyone feels on this, I am happy to do what ever is necessary, I know we are looking at 4 hours each but obviously we want to split that down into possibly 2 hour sessions, depends on how it can fit in with pit strategies. thoughts? or do we want to break it down even more?

i just checked the weather forcast for race day, seems like it will be rainy as we have about 73 % rain chance at the start, maybe at the end of the race it will dry as the chance of rain lowers to 30 % by Sunday midnight

Talking about deciding who drives at which time, i think we guys in the LMP should decide that also today or tomorrow

@Tech_G I'll be on tonight for some practice, so I'll give you some setup feedback later on. I'll be happy to do whatever stint. Do we know how long a fuel tank will last us?

I also need to know how driver swaps work, so it would be good to try it out tonight too.

I'm hoping to do some full fuel runs today and see how I do, although in VR I need a way to monitor fuel use as well.

@LMP1 Squad
After some practice in mixed and extreme wet conditions (75% wet ON, 100 % wet OFF) i can say that our setups works pretty good in these conditions and the tire pressures seem to be fine too.

in mixed conditions i was able to do 2.08 on a track with a slightly dry line on inters with 14 rear wing

but more important is the handling in extreme wet conditions. In these conditions the tire temps are more on the low side, but we should have a bit of a temps buffer for conditions where the track is drying. You should change the wing to 20 for heavy wet and be extremely gentle on the exit of slow corners and maybe shortshift.
The tire wear is really high, after a quarter fuel stint (10 laps) my tires were left on 66% Front and 52% rear.

@Battenberg , @Darksi - So here is what would be my final race setup for the dry, I have not tested in the wet yet. This setup seems very stable on long runs when the tire start to drop off, so we can still keep good pace.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9q1yiledM0IN3BUeExoN2Q1Z1k

We will need a different set up for Quali: Less front anti roll bar and springs, more camber, less rad and more brake blanking.
  • A full tank will last 25 laps, so about a 1 hour stint.
  • We can each do 2 hrs stints or rotate every hr, so let me know what you think.
  • Driver swaps are pretty straight forward, but we should do a practice and you need to map a couple of buttons. The procedure is as follows:
    • 2nd driver joins as spectator
    • 2nd driver takes a seat in the car
    • 1st driver selects 2nd driver in the pit menu
    • before pit stop 2nd driver presses race
    • during pit stop drivers will be swapped
Just a heads up, one problem I might have is Hurricane Irma, which may be over us on Friday, so if this happens it is unlikely I will make the race at all.

Here is another on-board lap, full fuel, green track, in case it helps anyone:

Sorry link up dated. Btw, the rFactor 2 setup files are not a valid file for the resource download area.

They are, @The Wayfaerer just uploaded one setup. Have in mind that every resource needs an approval first before release.

Ok well I just tried also and it would not let me. So I put the external link in there.

Edit: I think he did it by zipping the file to a rar file type.

Ok guys unfortunately you have to assume I am not going to be able to race with you on Saturday. The storm will be on us and it looks like it will pass very close, so I doubt we will have power and maybe even be mostly underwater.

Good luck with the race and I will drop you a note when I know more.
