Project CARS: Going out in style
As we draw a close to Project Cars here in RSR, we had an interesting month with some great combinations. Firstly, we headed to bonnie Scotland in the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, for a pair of races at Bannochbrae. Both races were won by @Feanor. For Race 1, he was joined on the podium by @Elodyr and @jamesl91, whilst Race 2 saw @The Wayfaerer and @PatatorJohn take P2 and P3.

Next in the calendar was a combination you were either going to love or hate! Nurburgring Combined in the Ginetta Junior. We again ran two races, this time of 2 laps each. The first race was won by @Puffpirat with the 1st race honours rounded out by @Nighttiger and @Alex Salmon . The 2nd race was won by our very own @Battenberg, with the 2nd race honours rounded out by @steveg200 in 2nd, with @PatatorJohn taking the final podium position in 3rd place.

With great racing all round, we came to the final event, our massive farewell to PCars 1. With our members turning out in force, we had 2 packed lobbies ready to give it a send-off and a half. Each race combo was selected by our members, with some crazy-sounding combinations proving to be enormous fun, none more so than the craziest of them all for the final race of the night, Superkarts at Bathurst.

From all of the team here, we want to say a massive thank you to you, the members, for being part of RSR and allowing us to keep providing fun events for you all. It has been an incredible couple of years, which looks set to only get better and better as we look ahead to the release of pCARS 2.

As our glorious leader likes to say: See you on the other side! ;)

Project CARS 2: Are you ready?

I am creating a separate thread that we can discuss more freely about event ideas/wishes!

Our wish list returns! Every RSR member can select 2 events so, if you've got a combo you think will be fun, or challenging for everybody, post it up and we'll see what we can do.

iRacing: Mixed Emotions at the Glen
With the 24 hours of Spa behind us, RSR entered the 6 hours of Watkins Glen, with a host of cars. @falcon2081 and @t0daY took the sole Daytona Prototype entry for RSR. In the GTE class, @Bassetts, @stolnikas, @Corbs, @Dutchtastic, @Puffpirat, @Yorkie_065 chose the Ferrari GTE, with @Pamellaa, @Battenberg rounding out the car roster in the Mercedes GT3.

@falcon2081 got the DP off to a great start, moving the car up to 3rd place. With a collision and a trip to the pits done, the team found themselves in 12th place. Moving back into the top 10, @t0daY took over and was running well, until trying to pass a GT3 car, through the Esses, near the end of his second stint. The collision caused severe damage and effectively ended their race.

In the GTE cars, @stolnikas/@Bassetts were racing together with @Corbs/@Dutchtastic. Car #66 started top-15 in class while Car #68 started towards the back of the field. With the two cars regularly popping into the top 10 in their class, both cars collided with lapped traffic, relegating them to a top 30 position for the race. Meanwhile, car #69, fielded by @Yorkie_065 and returning member @Puffpirat, started P5 in class but, a slight error from @Yorkie_065 towards the end of his stint, left them in P19 before @Puffpirat took over. With a sterling performance, they grabbed 9th place overall by the end of the race.

With the race running a second day, @Corbs and @Bassetts teamed up to run the race again, this time resulting in a P2 finish, following a flawless race!

Overall, a great showing from the RSR entrants and hopefully we can have more luck for the upcoming Road Atlanta Endurance event in September.

rFactor 2: The long road ahead
This month we successfully finished Season 10 & 11 of the Academy at SimRacing.Club!

With promotions to License 4 for Blue Monkey, t0daY, MelBonkers, FlyingKman, Battenberg, The Wayfaerer and Darksi, VEC and VLMS races were opened up to race in. Congratulations to all of you and enjoy the new challenges.

With the promotions earned, Blue Monkey, t0daY and MelBonkers entered Season 10 of the Virtual Endurance Championship (VEC), with the Oreca Nissan (LM-P2). Meanwhile, Battenberg, The Wayfaerer and Darksi signed up for the Virtual Le Mans Series (VLMS) with the SRT Viper GTS-R (LM-GT).

9th of September
RevolutionSimRacing will participate at the 12h of Spa by p1-simracing.net, with 2 cars:

Lola B12-60 LMP1:
Blue Monkey, FlyingKman, The Wayfaerer and Elodyr
Porsche 911 GT3: Battenberg, Darksi, Tech_G
Huge thanks to Gio_Vtec for providing us the liveries for this event. They look awesome. The event will be livestreamed so, don't forget to check the stream page on the forum on the day to not miss a second of the action.

Our VEC Team will also be participating in the 4 hours of Estoril multiclass race, in a LMP2, piloted by Blue Monkey and MelBonkers. With LMP1, LMP2 and LMGT all racing together, it's sure to be an action-packed race. The results of the race will also determine the final division for the team, with the team aiming for Division 2. Our thanks to Gxbbs & Dutchtastic for the livery they have created for the VEC team in such short notice.

30th September
Our VLMS team will be in their first race of the season, The 4 Hours of Indianapolis. They will drive in the LMGT class, having to contend with the faster LMP2 cars on track aswell. We wish the team well.

All in all, very exciting times ahead for our rFactor 2 division. We're really looking forward to these upcoming races and, don't forget, if you're interested in taking part then get in touch with us and we'll be happy to get you onboard. Everyone is welcome!

Video of the Month
You will probably all remember ProjectPD's fantastic Revolution Cup - Season 2 highlights reel in the last newsletter. Well, his teammate, Feanor, also appeared to grow bored of watching grass grow and put together a fantastic highlights video from the Season 2 Finale, held at Spa. We loved it a lot so, for those that might have missed it, here it is again. Top work Feanor :)
